Hi. Is this coin real or not? I found it the other day. has a Roman Centurion on one side with like a roman riding a horse with a dog along side on other side. very faint but you can see it. Just want to know if it was real. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

I just wish I knew. I know its not in good shape. I was just thinking and wondering if I was holding something which someone had in their hands so many years ago haha.
Guess I will never know. I just thought the pattern might of related to something or someone may of knew it.
Maybe someone might know fingers crossed. If not it will get thrown in the drawer for someone else to find and ask the question again somewhere.

It has the look of an "Ancient" coin - You should have put this in the "Ancient, Greek, Roman, and Medieval Coins Topics" forum. may have gotten alot more looks. Maybe ask a Mod to switch this over to there....

This has been moved to the more appropriate Ancients forum for the proper attention.

I might be wrong, but I suspect it's an old (antique) repro or fantasy. The near perfect roundness, the evidence of a casting sprue, and possible remnants of plating, lead me to this conclusion. I'll add to the list the fact that the iconography is so small in relation to the flan. You don't often see such a roomy "canvas" for imagery on most ancients. Perhaps it's Grand Tour-era?
