I picked up a Lincoln Cent at an antique store today that has doubleing on the mint mark.I can't post a good pic for all I have is a scanner. Paid 2 bucks for it. Have any of you heard of a 1956 double D before?

I think you missed it on coppercoin.com, use this url

http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php

and enter 1956, click on denver , and then click on mintmark variety and submit.

maybe you clicked on doubled die variety instead of mintmark variety.

Tim, if your coin looks like the one you pictured it's a RPM or repunched mintmark.
1956D-1MM-001.
And 1956-Double-Die to the forum.
