Hi,

Recently I came across this Greek 2 Euro Coin, Could anyone shed some light for me whether this coin has any value or not?

ebay listings are all over the place with some going for thousands and some going for 10eu.

Here are some photos

Hi Dirkman and

The S on your coin is a mintmark indicating that it was minted in Finland. The 'S' is for Suomi, Finnish name for the country.

I don't think it's worth over face value in circulated condition. I have found several of these coins on my various trips to the Eurozone since 2002. Mintage figure is 70 million so they are very common.

This is a strange urban myth that gets dispelled 1000 times a day on European FB groups / forums. No one knows where it started, but it has even been picked up by mainstream media in France, and is annoying as heck. This coin has a mintage in the millions, and is worth FV, nothing more.
