Hi Connor. Since you clearly know this coin, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me if the coin I just purchased is authentic. I'm buying it for my son who is an American history buff. The coin weighs 13.36 grams and is 32.5mm in diameter. It has the correct edge text. Thanks!

Is there reason to suspect that the marks on the cheek and neck are indicators of a cast coin?

Thank you to everybody in the community that so quickly replied. What a great bunch of people. I have a bag of silver coins I inherited and am slowly going through them trying to do my own research/learn which, if any of the are of any value. If I get stumped, I ask this great community for help. Thanks again.

Looking in the Overton book, which I would strongly recommend if you are pursuing these, I would agree with AcesKings. Nice example. And welcome to the show!
