I started collecting coins when I was about 7. That was 55 years ago. I had some good opportunities when I was young. I started delivering papers when I turned 10. I'll never forget the silver dollar certificate some lady left me for the paper. When I turned 15, I started working at a bank (My grandfather knew the president). I got lots of good stuff there. I have a couple rolls of uncirculated pennies.... I rolled. Not to mention a good amount of silver I could here as I was rolling. I quit collecting when I was about 20 when I got a job outside the bank. I now have a 1q year old son and was trying to get him into a couple or years ago. No interest. I came across a very large jar of pennies I asked him to sort. Nope. So I did. I got me going again. I am going through my collection and thinking about consolidating. I'm not sure the ebay route is good. In the past it seems like I've given stuff away after listing, commissions, shipping. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently bought my way to a 1909 - 1940 penny missing 4 coins (I now have lots of Lincoln Penny books the later ones complete). For all the penny collectors, you can guess the ones I need. That's where the consolidating comes in. I have in my collection just about everything but nothing complete and many duplicate coins. I'm sure I have enough to complete the 1909 book. I just have to figure out where to start.

I'm on the coin community to get some help on a coin I have. I'm really a rookie. Just recently read up on the minting process. OMG Way too much to digest. I'm going to post some pictures of the penny I came across. It looks strange and I'd like someone to tell me why it looks like it does.

After you have enough posts on the forum, you'll be able to sell/trade with other members. There are some members who do sell on the bay, so once they notice you're trying to do the same, they'll offer some advice. But you may need to look through the e-commerce/online forum for that.
