I used to seriously collect Buffalo nickels, which I personally felt were the "most American" of coins. Hunting varieties was always fun, the overdates, over-mintmarks, two feathers, etc.. While my interest in exonumia has long overshadowed the Buffalo bug, old habits are hard to break; this, as evidenced by a recent find.

Here's a 1937-D that looks to be mint state. The close-up evidence significant doubling of the date and profile ....

Are not my close-up pics decent enough to exhibit the doubling?

To my experience this date doubling seems fairly dramatic. I do realize that this sort of error isn't by any means valuable. I've had some early dates exhibiting this phenomenon, but I've not before owned a later date nickel with such prominent doubling.

Now, if only this bison had one less leg!

Pics are sufficient . Nice example, but I'd have to agree with CF on the MD. Most obvious on the 9 and 3 as the devices are made smaller from the MD. I do love a nice Buff as well

Yep, me too. That's why I simply cailed it "doubling." To me, it's more striking in appearance (pardon the pun), than the 1935 doubled die, pictured below ....
