What denominations are you looking for? Charlton's annual guide has a new, different variety section in the back for a different denomination or Monarch for each yearly edition, starting with the 2011 edition which had Vicky large cents. I don't have a list of which years had what denomination in the back, except the 2013 had nickel dollars. If you want the latest for circulating coinage, you'll want the 2021 guide, Vol 1. All the Charlton Vol 2's are NCLT coins and specialties and no circulating coinage. You should check out the Haxby guides as well, since they include both tokens AND circulating coinage. The Haxby books are excellent.

what is your area of interest? Older versions books had a special section each year (eg. large cents, silver dollars, etc...) new versions do not, the book has a good breadth of general info and prices give relative value, but most are well above what people actually pay. you can pick up older issues on ebay, Amazon, used book stores for decent prices.

I collect everything, as far back as I can, and new. I only really want info on circulation coinage though, but other info is always good. Thanks

This guide is more comprehensive than any single Charlton issue, a great place to start. Available at many dealers, sellers on ebay, Amazon, and the RCM.

I also highly recommend this book as well.

I'm like you and am interested in circulating coins as far back as I can go. I rely on the Canadian Coins vol.1 Numismatic Issues. I also have the Canadian Colonial Tokens book. I generally avoid the more comprehensive catalogues as they include Collector Coins which may just end up confusing me (or tempting me into buying them, haha).

@SPP-Ottawa, Does the Grading Guide include anything on tokens? I have another grading guide, but it is very limited for tokens.
