Combined NGC/PCGS pop for 5 Franc Ceres, done about a year ago (Sept 8, 2021)...

1850-A-France-5-Francs---Thoughts?

Less than 200 graded MS63 or better. That's why prices have soared.

Many of the good coinswill be in France/Europe though, where grading&slabbing coins is uncommon.

Not to say that the price is not market appropriate!

They'll get graded eventually as the price and demand continue to increase. US coins went through the same situation, and prices of them didn't exactly plummet.

I did not want to suggest that prices will go down.

However, grading&slabbing in Europe is not exactly popular.

It is not popular because it would expose the fact that many European sellers clean their coins.

I am not sure that this is the main reason, but lets not get into this here.
