I know this is a messy coin. I just want to make sure I'm looking at the Large/Small dates on the 1982 LMCs. Is this a small date?

Thanks Dearborn. I almost had a heart attack yesterday when I was weighing 82's. One popped up with 3.11g! I thought I was weighing small dates! Turned out to be a large date. Oh well, gotta keep looking.

Parnelli....Please realize this- There are tons of 1982 SMALL DATE cents out there that are COPPER from the PHILLY mint. The one you (and all of us) are looking for is the
1982-D (DENVER) small date copper!!!! That one is the mother lode as only a few are known to exist. The 1982 Philly small date is rather common, at least here on the east coast. And yes, the coin you pictured is a small date 1982 Philly but whether it is copper or zinc does not really matter. Only the 82-D small date copper is 'Gold'.

@Scuba1 - Yes, I know. I neglected to mention that the one that weighed 3.11g was a 1982-D. It is the trifecta of Mint, Small Date and Copper/Bronze! Still looking!
