I found a 1949 Canadian roll searching and I was wondering if some one could post photos of the A to denticals vs. A between. The photos would be very helpful, thanks in advance,

John, here's the diagnostic for the 1949 "A to denticles" (also called "high relief obverse")
Check the alignment of the last A in GRATIA to the closest denticle. The valuable version is on the right.
If in doubt, post a pic and I'll give it a crack.

Here's how it looks on an actual coin:

Thanks for posting -- I didn't realize this. Now I'll have to check the five or six 1949 cents I found I had in a horde of George VI's I was sorting through for another member here.

What are they worth, as far as circulation-type examples go?

Good luck on your searches!
Would you imagine, I once ran across an unsearched horde of the "A to denticles"? 10 coins total in VF-AU.
I've never seen these at US dealers, but they sell well on ebay in ICCS holders.
F go for ~$20, VF around $30, and XF-AU for $50+ (USD$)

Kurt has posted the diagnostics, but if any of you have the same doubts, that I had, try this: Turn the coin, or diagnostics around, and look at it from the edge of the coin, rather than from across the face. The slight twist to the "A" gives(me) room for doubt, unless I do turn it around. Hohe this helps,
Dick
