Hello,

I bought an batch of coins that I'm still sorting out and found 2 versions of the 1941 halve stuiver,NL.
1942 is rare in zinc, this I know,
Problem is have 2 of the 1941 zink ones and two others that are non-zinc, allmost double weight of the zinc one.
I cannot find anything on the 1941 non zink coin.
Can ayone help me out.

Some years ago unofficial copies were made of the 5 types of war time zinc coins of the Netherlands for sale as a set to collectors. These were issued by a private party. These replicas are not made of zinc but of another white metal (copper-nickel or stainless steel). The upper coin you show is one of these replica pieces. I did have some of these sets but I did not keep them.

I found some photo's of such a set of replicas. The issuer is "Muntclub" (Coin club). Included is a certificate of authenticity a a listing of the specification. The metal is given as copper-nickel-zinc. The weight is not given.
