So I know that this is a details coin, but here's the story.
I won this in an
ebay auction about a year and a half ago. The pictures were taken deceptively and didn't show that the coin had been polished. But since an 87 S is a bit better than common, and I got it for less than $30, I decided to keep it as a pocket Morgan to see if it would "UN Polish".
And before any of you say that I'm trying to "doctor the finish on a coin", just remember that about every coin ever minted has been carried around in somebody's pocket.
Well it's been in my pocket for over a year along with other coins, keys, the occasional nut and bolt, and any other thing that found it's way into my left pocket. After a year it still looks as polished as the day I got it so I suspect I need to carry it around for many more years before I see an improvement, of course by then it also might devolve from around AU-50 to perhaps XF-40.
