Having 2015 P Silver Eagle Regraded

Rhab New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 04/06/2021 06:44 am I have 5 21015 P silver eagles graded gem BU by ICS. would it be worth my time/money to have them regraded by NGC or PCGS? I realize they could come back with lower grades but was considering it in case of wanting/having to resell. Report this Post to the Staff

John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 04/06/2021 07:06 am to CCF. In order to justify all costs in having them slabbed, the retail value need to be at least $150 per coin after slabbing. Check ebay sold values to get an idea on current value and make sure your coins will grade high enough. John1 Report this Post to the Staff

They should be considered the same as just raw bullion coins So how high would they have to grade to justify the roughly $35 per coins cost to have them graded? The graded coin would need to have a value of about $70 just to break even. Since you can buy MS-69's for under $50 and MS-70's in the $60 to $80 range I don't think it would be worth it. I am assuming these are NOT the "Minted in Philadelphia" coins and are just 2015 silver eagles with no mintmark (bullion coins) Because I can't see the "minted in Philadelphia" coins having been slabbed without a grade. Foxwoods Man Pillar of the Community United States 4901 Posts	Posted 04/08/2021 08:13 am NGC would cost you $18/coin (plus $10 handling on the order and shipping both ways) A MS70 First Release sold yesterday for $53 so yours without that designation could get less...ASSUMING they come back 70's.
