Hi, does anyone have handy access to the Seaby reference 'English Silver Coinage'? If so could you please let me know the description the book gives of the ESC-147 variant of the 1804 Bank of England 5 shilling? I've got a good library but I don't have that book yet. thanks!
Appreciate the link but they don't have the ESC-147 variant listed on there. It's fairly rare...only 3 graded by NGC for example. Could anyone provide the description from Seaby's ESC?
I got the Seaby book. ESC-147 is listed with obverse of A but reverse of 2b and it's R2 rarity (very rare). 2b reverse has the K initial on the reverse both inverted and incuse. K is the initial for the engraver Conrad Heinrich Küchler, Boulton's Chief Engraver. I dare anyone to find a coin with a smaller initial. It's ridiculously tiny. On the reverse in the area between Britannia's dress, the cornucopia and the shield.
