Since in many cases we're trying to grade from poor pictures I thought I'd add this to the mix.
We probably all download picture from listings and try to clean them up hoping to find a hidden bargain.
This is one that I thought may hold some potential.
This is how it went down the seller was asking $95,00 + $5.00 shipping auction style with make a offer open.
There was approx. 4 hrs to go and I sent an offer of $85.00 + $5.00 shipping he countered within a couple of hours at $90.00.
Now I was concerned someone would bid at the last second so I excepted the counteroffer so I'm all in at $95.00 Canadian total.
Now what do you think, do you see any potential here?
Bad buy or good buy?
First two pictures were supplied in the listing, last two are the results of me trying to improve them.
I'm pretty sure I can take better pictures, so I'll add my pictures when I receive the coin.
Take a stab at a grade now and then later after I add decent pictures.
Have some fun!!

Cheers, Bill

The Reverse shows little wear, the Obverse looks like wear but very clean fields if wear I agree with John / Fine - Very Fine, but if a weak strike you got a deal

These nickels are not easy to grade...
IMO, it would get a 20 at ICCS.
Good luck with it.

Well the coin arrived and I'm ok with the coin and what I paid for it however I don't think there any profit to be realized.
I would grade as F15 but a problem free F15.
When I looked at the listing photo's I placed to much emphasis on the rims and fields, with the central part of the photo being blurry I was hoping there would be more detail there.
I had purchased this for what I had thought was a fair price for a F12-15 coin hoping in hand it would grade VF20-30,
Anyway I will not return it I'm ok with the coin and what I paid for it.
In any case here's my photos of the coin for grading, any and all opinions appreciated.

Cheers, Bill

Is the coin truly flat and not dished to either side. There seems to be much much more wear on the Obv versus the Rev. The leaves look barely worn.
