Just did a box and $3.80 was copper, so probably 7.6% with that box.

Wow, that's an extremely LOW percentage!

Some people here can tell copper from zinc just by looking. Sometimes I can tell, but I always flip them to make sure. If they ring while they're in the air, then they are copper. Zinc will make no sound at all in the air. Try it first with one you know is copper and one you know is zinc.

The most popular method here seems to be the drop test: Drop it on a hard surface and if it tings, it's copper, while zinc is flat. When I did this, I often had to drop one cent several times to tell, and many ended up on the floor. I always set all the 82s aside until the end, then I just flip them one at a time. Almost all 82s here are copper.

There are also small and large dates. The small date is more rare. The difference is on the small date, the top half of the 8 is smaller than the bottom half. On the large date the top and bottom of the 8 are about the same size.

I have not searched rolls in a long time, but I am in SC and averaging about one copper cent for every three zinc cents in regular change.

I'm getting about 27% here in SE Michigan. My wheat finds vary, but I almost always find at least one per box. Usually 5 or 6.

My best finds so far would probably be the Indian Heads(6) and then the George V Canadians(3).

It is, but there's always copper in every box. The last time there was a full box of new 2008 cents was back in May. Since then, it's been mixed rolls. That low percentage could have been a fluke box; it did come from a Winter Park branch (8 miles away) as opposed to the ones closer to the airport, where I live.

I'm in SW Ohio. I'd say I find about 20% in rolls.
Gone through 4-5 boxes since summer
2 IHC's
averaging about 1 wheat per 5 rolls
averaging about 1 candian per 4 rolls
averaging about 1 old canadian per box (The ones with the guy instead of the lady I think it's Edward or maybe george) I'm sure someone will correct me
I have almost a complete Canadian cent date set going back to the 50's that I have collected from rolls

These are all approximations I don't really keep extremely close track.

I got my usually four rolls today, but I was surprised at what was in them.

Two rolls were about 60% copper, one was 90%, and the other was 100% copper!
Plus three wheaties, two in one roll. A 1958 D, a 1956, and a 1955.

Also, there were only three or four coins from 80, 81, 82. Almost all of the copper was 1959-1974. I also pulled about 20 nice red EF/AU+. Of course I went back for more, but that teller was closed:(

Rest in Peace

The coppers are today's wheat cents. Not worth too much yet, about double face, but soon-who knows ? 3X, 4X, 5X would be good.

Included in those rolls was an ef red 1973 S. According to the Red Book this is the second least minted LMC.

My findings are about the same as coinsrus here in Cincy Ohio. Except for my copper finds is about 30% I hand pick about 4-6 rolls at a time paper only.

Seeking:$50.in copper (Almost there $49.70)

I'd say my boxes would be 30% +. I do not save copper, I do not see it being worth my time. Is this really worth everyones time? I mean what are you going to do with all that copper!?
