Hi all thank you for looking at this. I presume the RF means Republque Francaise for France, but really I have no idea! This is an ex-DNW auction item May 26, 2020 L. 232p.. Identifying exonumia and numismatics is part of my fun, but this one has me stumped. It is a white metal, not copper or silver. Seems more of a tin/pewter or lead like substance. Ring test is a thud. 14.5gms, 30mm dia..

The planchet with the almost purposeful splitting along with the subtle linear vertical striations has me thinking it could be a fantasy piece, token or medal which is modern but made to look old. It has medal alignment.

Do planchets flattened by a roller ever show striations like this? Maybe it could be natural/expected.
