Hi,

Have a French Indochina I Centime 1884 coin but I cannot locate that date in Numista as they start at 1885. Possible a fake?

Your coin is actually from French Cochinchina, not French Indochina. The two colonies were merged in 1887, but from a minting point if view, France shifted from minting Cochinchina coins to minting only Indochina coins in 1885.

While Numista doesn't seem to cover the Cochinchinese coins, they are found in the NGC World Coin Price Guide: https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...duid-1267101

Thanks erafjel. I should have looked more closely at the writing. I found it on Numista under Vietnam.
