On the shore of a picturesque pond ( # no photo found lol) a newly discovered loyalist cabin which held a few coin secrets along with its other long held relics. A few coins of interest ie..not totally corroded survived the centuries. A pair of George lll of Great Britain...1799 and a 177? and an Irish token of Kyan and Camac 1792. Other finds included a slick worn George ll halfpenny and another Irish...a slick Hibernia halfpenny (Geo lll) but both still identifiable. I'm obviously in the right place for the oldies ...well at least for my area. Next hunt will be on the other side of the pond....to see if the coins are any greener! ironhorse Valued Member Canada 363 Posts	Posted 04/30/2021 12:46 pm @ NumisRob these halfpennies are a very common find ,I've undoubtedly found dozens I think at points in our colonial past here in Atlantic Canada there were 'shipments' of outdated or outmoded coins in Great Britain sent for us to use since there was very little circulating coins in the early says before our tokens started showing up...and many were brought with the early settlers from Europe etc Edited by ironhorse 04/30/2021 12:47 pm Report this Post to the Staff
