The instant teller machine spit this $20 note out at me the other day. The serial number appeared wonky to me and I don't know diddly about banknote errors... I haven't even looked for them until now.

The Coins and Canada website doesn't have much detail on the subject that I found so, I decided to go to the professionals, hello.

The beginning to my oodles of questions would be, "why, when I enter the more recent notes into the Coins and Canada search bar, they don't exist?" Is there a 20 year wait period before they release its numbers? Anyways...

The prefix letters on this note look undersized to the serial numbers. The first number 3 in one set seems misaligned and the last number 3 in the other is also.

I assume there is a range of tolerance that makes or breaks the potential for any hint of desirability on an "error" such as this, no?

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated, thank you.

Yes, and that is why your note is worth face value only.

Because it would take too many resources to include and list all these notes which are only worth face value, if your modern note is not listed it is safe to assume that it's a spender.

The numbers are applied by a numbering machine that rotates with each impression.
At the high speed of the presses, the numbers do not always return to their
exact position so there is a tolerance allowed.
The only time they become collectable is when one or more of the numbers
have part of the digit missing.
Yours is well within tolerance and worth $20.00.
