Hello, I am a longtime Benjamin Franklin fan, and got into collecting about a month ago via a Franklin half I stumbled upon, and paid too much for. After some time of overpaying for everything that caught my fancy, and fit my modest budget,I figured I ought to get an education in coins before proceeding any further in this hobby.
So for the last week I've been soaking up everything I can on coins, especially Franklin halves, and Franklin commemoratives. I still don't have a clue what I'm doing, but I found this forum, and you guys seem very knowledgeable.

Thanks everyone, and thanks for that link john1. Is it considered rude to look up coin prices at a shop? I've thought of writing prices next to my little set list with coins needed

to the CCF! If any member here says they never paid too much for a coin early on they're either suffering from memory loss or.....

And yes, I'm a Franklin half fan...

There are some aspirational coins in that thread! When I get back in town I'll put some of mine in there.
Jack Jeckell thanks for the info, I will definitely visit next time my schedule aligns. As an OTR trucker, Thursdays nights at home are not a common occurrence.
