I got my Ace 250 today. Went outside and threw a few coins and a nail on the ground just to try it out. I then viewed the DVD that came with it and off I went to do some hunting. Got to the school play ground and was able to hunt about 30 minutes before it started raining really hard. This is what I found.

Very cool! What made you decide on the Ace over other brands?
I'm just curious because I am thinking about getting one myself.

I read alot, and I do mean alot, of user reviews on several different brands and models. The Ace seemed to be the best choice. Performance ranked up there with some of the higher end models and the price was right for a beginner.

Until today, I have only used a detector 1 time and that was 10 years ago. It was my in-laws White, and they didn't even know how to program it. Needless to say we didn't find anything of value with it. They do not even use it now.

I my own opinion the Ace 250 can be considered a "Plug-n-Play" machine. It not only found, but correctly identified each of the coins you saw in the pic without any programming by me. I Paid $229.00 shipped and got an Automax precision V4 pinpointer mini detector, a digging trowel with holster, How to find lost treasure book, headphones, and a handy little nail apron type thing to put your finds in while hunting.

Note that you got more coins than pull tabs -- that's the way you want it to be every time. :)

Your doing great my first few trips out I was lucky and happy if I came home with 25 cents total... Wait until you find your first silver. Its a great feeling only eclipsed by your first gold find. After that the addiction take over.....

Already addicted to metal detecting, and my limited time to do it because of winter only makes it worse.

Still waiting on my first Silver & Gold

But I did find two wheat pennies and a 1947 nickel, so I am getting closer
