I would think that many of those are identifiable. The skills of many on this forum never cease to amaze. Post one coin per thread with good pictures of the obverse as well as the reverse. Let the coin gurus here do their magic.

Yes with the wear I agree it is that half frank. It is not in mint tolerance but the wear definitely explains it.

Metal detecting finds are one of the few examples of the otherwise general rule "don't clean coins". A ground-dug coin should be cleaned (by whatever means works best) until at least it can be identified, and protected from further corrosion now that it's been dug up; that's basic archaeological practice. Whether you continue to clean it beyond that point is entirely up to you. And from a collector viewpoint, most would agree that a "cleaned coin" is better than an "unidentified and unidentifiable coin".

I'd also agree with the ID; "Napoleon" was the first name that popped into my head when I saw that silhouette.

Thanks for the advise & my ocd always wants to wash a lot of the coins. I gave this coin to my neighbours 9yo son along with a few thousand others and threw him a few pre1900s as well as a full NZ penny set hopefully to bait him and his dad into this awesome hobby.

The coolest thing I have found is an antique silver christening pin, of course I offered it to the property owner but she kindly declined. As soon I as I learn to post pictures I will show you guys
