A while ago I sent this dollar off to be graded by ICCS. I was quite surprised by the grade as I was anticipating an uncirculated grade. Is there something I'm overlooking, or is it simply a grading error? I appreciate any insight!

The coin shows the slightest wear on the eyebrow ,cheek, earlobe, neck and on the reverse.
Should be AU58 technically.
I think they've net graded it because of all the marks.
I don't believe in net grading for circulated coins.
Let the market decide the value of a coin, the slab should not become a price tag, we pay TPG's for their grading opinion only, they have no business in directing the marketplace, let the collectors decide the value of a coin, IMO.

Definitely should be higher than EF-40. In my opinion, the discrepancy is enough to investigate whether an error was made.

totally agree with that!!!

I am also in the 55, maybe 58, subject to coin in hand.
ICCS might have devalued it because of all the knicks and knocks on the obv?
