Hi guys

I recently picked up the below coin from the Ptolemy era of Egypt. I was told its Ptolemy 3rd but I thought Ivd check with the experts on here :)

Any info you have on this particular coin would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Jay

It does indeed appear to be Ptolemy III. What size is it?

Hi Bob

Compared to my Roman coins massive lol

It's approx 36 - 38mm and weights 48 grams, also about 3mm thick as well!

Cheers Jay

Thanks Bob

Turns out the seller sent me the wrong one as he had 2.

He was great though and sent the right one out which came today. I just need to send the 1st back now.

Quick question - I notice both these coins have a small circular indention in the center of both the obverse and reverse. Is that part of the design elements or something else? I've never collected ancients but find them very interesting, and just found this a bit curious... Thanks!
