0.1 g is impossible...no metal is that light, unless it's plated plastic.
If 1g, that is very interesting!

I am going to say, if it is a plastic play coin it is the best looking one I have ever seen. If it were mine I would definitely take a chance and get it graded, it would be worth the grading fees just to find out. I am sure the postal worker meant 1 gram instead of .1 gram because I don't think the postal scale can tell a weight that small

it could be a chinese fake, they make pretty much anything these days someone could have spent it after findig out it was counterfit.

thats always a possibility thats why it would be worth it to me to get it certified and graded

Personally I would use ICG since they've certified one already.

The coin is plated. The Post office was weighing ounces anyway.

Got a filling in your tooth... Put the penny on it, Aluminum has a nasty effect with a silver filling. That should straighten this out!

Right--I know the feeling of Al foil against filling.
I think the plating question might be answered by weighing on a good jeweler's scale.
I suspect a postal scale simply wasn't accurate enough.
