There are some varieties, but nothing startling. This one is in reasonable condition - I would expect it to make £60 to £100 at auction in the UK. Report this Post to the Staff

PaddyB Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 945 Posts	Posted 06/26/2021 03:37 am Ah - looks like you have a Half Crown rather than a Crown - my mistaken assumption. Check the diameter - Crown is around 37.5mm, Half Crown 31.5mm. Half Crowns were made in this style from 1839 to 1850 and then again from 1874 to 1887. 1844 is a fairly common date - 1839, 1841 and 1843 are much scarcer. In that condition yours would be worth £30 to £50 in the UK market - maybe more in the US. Report this Post to the Staff
