Hey All, I have come across a Moraccan 5 Francs. There is no date in it though, and it's not because it has been worn off. The coin is near mint, absolutely perfect, no scratches, no rubbed off spots.. etc. The only numbers are "1365", and I KNOW that it's not a date. A google search didn't tell me squat
Hello madzdad Morocco has a different calendar from the standard Western one. 1365 is indeed a date, a Hejira date. The Hejira calendar started in our year 622 and moves a little faster since their years are shorter. The year AH1365 started december 6th 1945, and ended november 24th 1946. Most of the muslim world uses this calendar.
I can also add that Krause lists the value of this coin as $2 in mint, or UNC, quality. It was made 20 000 000 copies of it.
