Having a hard time figuring out about this quarter 2002 Louisiana purchase appears to be 90% silver but yet the mint mark is D and not S which from what I read online The silver proof quarter was San Francisco can anyone help me figure it out, weight is 5.71g

Looks to be a normal business strike quarter. Maybe it's plated (therefore not showing the clad layer?).

Millions of these were silver, gold and platinum plated and sold as special edition coins. The plating adds no collector value.

The weight of a silver would be 6.25g. Not even close.
