Poll Question
Hi there I've been looking all over for a forum about coins/medals this seems to be the best one I've seen and the most active :).

These are the pictures I've taken, can anyone give me tips?,im using an old Fujifilm Finepix S5200 had it for years now,i asked my friend how to take them without glare he told me the trick with paper over the flash or use no flash at all,but now it doesn't show the shine of the coins/light scratches.

WELCOME to the forum

I think the pics look Really nice with the exception of the dark shadow at 5 o'clock...But,I have trouble with shadows myself..

Im thinking that the PM mark may be from the Perth Mint, but I'm not sure

Taking photos of coins is a big subject here...someone will be along to give you some tips,soon...so hang in there!

I think the best photos I've taken (for coins and banknotes) are the ones taken during the day (maybe around 2 PM or 3PM) with the sunlight coming in.

I press the half-shutter and wait for the camera to adjust the white balance and then take it, and ususally they turn out pretty good.

Thanks guys,i hate using the auto settings, usually when I put them on my computer the images look alot more blurrier than I can get them with using manual, does take a bit of time to get the settings right but sometimes they can be a hit and miss either look really sharp or a little bit sharp with a blurry edge.
