Doubling on every letter but not able to distinguish between doubled die 1 or doubled die 2. Any thoughts would be helpful

Yes, this coin was included in our 2011 65th edition Charlton variety section on p311. It is a fairly scarce coin. It has both hub doubling, some Mechanical Doubling, and repunches of some letters. We used to call it an "around the clock". Now it's just known as an 1881 with heavy punch doubling around the clock. It's worth about $200 Cdn in VF-20 and yours is a little better. A great find, so tuck it away. It is NOT the one on p310. The doubling was caused by a misalignment between the hub and the working die during the multiple pressings needed to sink the new die. It's been a while since someone found and posted one of these. Nearly every large cent collector wants one of these.
