I ordered the 1/10 oz gold proof knowing that it was on backorder. Today I got this email:

Quote:
PRODUCT UPDATE: CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER

Dear XXX:
Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately, we are not able to fulfill it at this time. Please call our Customer Service Center at your earliest convenience at 1-800-872-6468.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If we do not hear from you within 48 hours, we will automatically cancel your order. This is to protect you against any fraudulent activity on your account.

That is all fine and good other than the fact that the CSC just rings busy.

When dealing with the mint, the fun never stops.

I'm sorry psuman08. That really stinks!

I have another issue with the US Mint and this relates to when you receive their shipping confirmation emails. I received one on Aug06, but as of today (Aug11), the tracking info from USPS shows that the item hasn't been received yet. I called the US Mint last night and was told that the email just confirms a shipping label has been printed. But their email clearly states "Your recent order USM09900xxx has shipped!".
If one would use such practices on ebay, one would get kicked out...!

omxfl, I am also sorry to hear about your issues. That does not seem right.

As a follow up to my earlier post, I left the mint a call back number after choosing the purchase option. They called back after about 1 1/2 hours. For whatever reason, my card did not process. When she re-ran it, everything worked. I asked if that meant the 1/10 gold proof would be shipping and she could not answer that. I am hoping that since they were trying to charge the card, it will be sent soon.

I hope I do not run into any issues with my Morgan / Peace orders since they are on the same card.

It is common ebay practice to show an item has been shipped when in actuality only a tracking number has been provided. It may take a few days for the seller to mail the package. USPS informed delivery will show USPS has received shipping notice but the package has not yet been given to them.

@ psuman08 I received the same message for my 1/10 oz gold backorder coin, of course I can't get through to the US Mint. I wonder if I should update my CC info with a new card as I have all 6 Morgan/Peace dollars on backorder and wouldn't want those orders to get cancelled. What a cluster.

@ pkluck, glad it worked out for you as well. It makes no sense at all. My order is still showing processing. I don't have a charge on my card, so it is not being shipped. So what did they do that caused us to get that email?

I am not changing my card for the Morgans / Peace. Any change you make to your account now seems to be asking for trouble.
