Hi! Today came to me two wonderful coins which I bought a few days ago In connection with this I decided to show you my coins with Emperor Franz Joseph I. This is the first coin with this Emperor. My mother when she was young asked my grandfather to make her a medallion - and my grandfather used a coin which was in my family from generations. And unfortunately at the first time he made a hole in wrong place and he had to correct this And I think that is the reason - this coin - why I'm now collecting other coins. 20 kreuzer 1868
The second coin in my collection with Franz Joseph, I bought two years ago when I went with my girlfriend to Vien and Bratislava. I can say that this is specific "souvenir" from the capital city of Slovakia. And I have to say that it was wonderful trip 1 florin 1884
Third coin I bought about year ago on an auction. Beautiful piece of silver 5 coron 1900
After that I started reading about coins minted during reign of Franz Joseph I. I saw few wonderful coins minted for special occasions. The most beautiful in my opinion was 2 gulden from 1879. It was minted to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Francis Joseph I with Elizabeth of Wittelsbach (known as Sissi). Two weeks ago I saw at one auction this coin and I bought them for ca. 10$. 2 gulden 1879
When I was waiting for the postman I bought one more commemorative coin - another 5 coron, minted to celebrate 60th years of reign. 5 coron 1908
Very bad photo - in real this coin looks greatUnfortuantely week ago I saw at auction the same type of coin and I decided that I must have it. Fortunately I had enough money and I was lucky - I bought this beauty for only ca. 42$. 2 gulden 1879
And now I have all these wonderful coins in my collection Thanks for reading

I fully agree on the 1879 2 gulden. Too expensive for me. I have to settle for the florins By the way, is the 2 gulden piece in the newer Krause catalogs? It isn't included in the old ones.

They are beautiful coins. I've collected a couple myself and am always looking for nice examples. I'm partial to the Hungarian mints.

Nice coins, but I think the "2 gulden" can be considered as a medal.
Florin is a good piece (KM#2222), KM#2219, with a younger Franz Joseph, is older and very common in AUNC. "5 Corona" coins are very big pieces and are not expensive in VF/XF grade. If you are interested in austrian coins you can try Franz II coins (1792-1835). They are beautiful and have this kind of imperfection of the really old coins.

Kreuzer, I think that it can't be consider as a medal - it has "ZWEI GULDEN XLV KET FORINT" text on the edge Franz II? I have few coins with him, but I really like (from Austrian coins), only Franz Josephs coins

Hello everybody! Long long time ago I've bought my last coin with the Emperor but few days ago I've won one and today I could see it in my hands The coin I've bought is 5 coron minted in 1908, when the Emperor was celebrating the jubilee of 60th years long reign. I have one, just like this, in my collection but I've decided to sell it and bought this one. Here's the pic:

Nice coins, the first one (1908) is a sad gap in my collection. I bought the second one two years ago.
DagonX, How much did you pay for them?
