Probably a heck of a lot of fun to just roam the beaches and treasure hunt.

Use the search box upper left of page. I think the ACE 250 and 350 are recommended.

Detectorists in Australia only rarely go looking the beaches.
Instead, they go looking for gold nuggets.
A good way of combining with a fishing or gemstone fossiking camping or caravanning expedition in the great outdoors.

There are magazine publications in Australia, such as
'Gold, Gems and Treasure', which can be found alongside
'Coin and Banknotes' magazine in the news agent and stationery shops.

I live in rural area and I find nails and barbed wire most of the time. I will be trying to look for some older farms I can get permission to search. The public places are dozed over be ccc in the 30s and early 40s and I can not find the places at all.

If after gold nuggets, search in a district that has a known gold find record. A specialist geology map of area your selected area can be a huge advantage.

Make sure that you have all the necessary permissions to search, especially on private land.

Several hundred silver coins for me over the course of ten years or so, two silver dollars, 12+ silver halves, seateds, old coppers, silver thimbles, 30 or 40 rings of precious metals and 1758 Spanish silver from a Michigan farmyard. My favorite spots for old silvers are the hard-hit public parks, I really cleaned up.
