I would like some help identifying the New Zealand strapless coins.
I once saw some info on verifying a real strapless penny from a fake as I guess it is too easy to remove the strap. I can not find it now.

I am new here and I did not see a better place to post this.

Oh...I see that in my catalogue now
That looks like a nice variety--how did I miss that?
If I find any info, I'll post it here.

The key element to look for is the designer's initials M.G. on the truncation. The truncation on the strapless coins was cut like 45°. If you can see them as clear as a bell, it's a strapless coin. When the die was recut, the truncation was made at a much sharper angle to the plane of the coin (closer to 90°), so the letters are much harder to make out.

According to my kiwi friends

Thanks for the info.
Since posting I found the reference I was looking for. There is an extensive description of the strapless NZ coins in The Guidebook and Catalog of British Commonwealth Coins, 3rd Edition (1971) by Remick, James, Dowle & Finn, pages 460 & 461.
