Would something like this DataVac electric air duster be ok to use on the inside of an Air-Tite?
https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Pow...p/B01FWSYOME

I have one and I used it to blow on the inside of an Air-Tite. It did seem to blow out some larger dust/lint but I think it might have left behind some extremely small specks of dust/lint. They look like stars in the night sky. These specks are not noticeable when the coin is inside the Air-Tite. I'm just wondering if putting a coin inside would damage it in the future with those specks inside.

I uploaded two pictures. The Air-Tite I'm holding with my left hand seem to have more specks after I blew on it with the electric air duster. The Air-Tite in my right hand has less specks and has never been blown on by anything.

I've not used Air-Tites in many years, but for something like this I used to just rinse the Air-Tite in distilled water and let thoroughly dry on a lint-free cloth. It worked ok, but I'm not sure if doing that is really recommended...

You have a problem with static electricity, which is why the dust particles are sticking to to plastic.

Problem easily solved.
Just rinse in running water, drain, and wipe excess water droplets off with a clean dry lint free cloth - soft microfiber cloth OK. Let stand to completely dry in a dust free environment, then put the coin in it.

Airtites are a much better and cheaper solution to storage of valuable coins if you don't mind if they are graded or not, or you are confident about the grade and don't have to bother to get a valuable coin graded.

Coins in smaller airtites can still be put into a standard 20 pocket album page.
The larger rectangular module size and shape of a slab does not allow for this.

does that duster have a pre-filter on it? if not it may be picking up particles on the intake and accelerating the dust particles essentially turning it into a mini sand blaster and could damage the surface of the air-tite.

As others have said, distilled water is the best cleaner for these.

to the Community!

I would use a can of compressed air to blow the dust away.

I tend to agree with Dearborn ,that's a very good reason why the dust keeps staying on the air-tite .

I would use an air compresor.

Air from a conventional air-compressor contains moisture and oils from the compressor pistons, so I would not recommend that.

I agree with Dearborn.
Try washing with clean water, and dry thoroughly instead.
No need to make a simple problem complicated.

Would it be safe to use soap and distilled water to clean Air-Tites? I unknowingly wrapped some of my Air-Tites in Stretch-Tite plastic food wrap which contains PVC. The inside of the Air-Tites touched the food wrap. Would soap clean off the PVC? I tried 100% Isopropyl Alcohol and 100% Acetone but it left a white stain on the Air-Tite.
