I'm closer to G-04 on this one.

It might just squeeze in VG08 territory. Cool clashes! Quite extreme. Would have been very interesting to see this coin in XF or above with those clashes.

Wow, look at those stars. Talk about late die state.

Looks VG8 to me with a weak strike. This is the O-103 variety, which is the most common die pair for 1814, and shows the dramatic die clashes.

I'm catching your drift, Coinfrog. Here's what PCGS has to say:

Coinfrog, I see where you're coming from. The flat surfaces on the breast and the eagle's left wing appears to be from the strike, since those are common areas to be struck incomplete. I am looking at the remaining details around the eye and ear on the obverse, and the eagle's right wing and talons. These are tougher coins to grade...

G6
this series are much more difficult to grade due to striking issues. you must look at the coin as a whole and the higher relief devices such as the date, stars, shield, talons and motto

I'm not super knowledgeable about this particular type of coin but by any standard I'm familiar with on other issues it looks better than G-06 but not by much. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this in a VG-08 holder.
