Hello,

Recently I learned in this forum that certain coins and years were minted and NIFC. For Example Sacagawea dollars from 2002 to Date. My question is why doesn't "The Red Book" or even The U.S. Mint's website mention this? Where can I find this information? What reference(s) state these mintage "rules?" Please Help!

Thanks,
Rich

Hi snitchard,

I don't like to see orphaned threads on a great forum like CCF. I was going to answer but "NIFC" isn't ringing any bells with me right now.

Please clarify and maybe we'll have an answer.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean... The RedBook will list beside the year/mintmark a letter in bold like (a) or (c)
and if you look at the bottom of the page it will say
a. Not issued for circulation
c. Not issued for circulation

So I am not sure what you mean... in 2009 50 cent coins are the only coins NIFC.. The sac has been turned over to the Native American dollar..
So basically the 1,5,10,25 cents are in circulation and all 1 dollar coins except silver coins "including commemorative's" all 50 cent pieces are NIFC
