This coin has all of the markers for an O-111 except for the die cracks through the bottom of the date and the die cracks through the left stars and stars 8 through 10. Could this be a very early die state of this variety?

Date is 7 mm and high, with short serifs on the 1's. The date is supposed to have a die crack through the bottom.

Again, die cracks are supposed to join all of the stars on the left and stars 8 through 10 on the right

I can see the cracks although they appear faint and lightly obscured by hairlines. The wavy crack through the date looks just like the one in Overton. It's hard to tell a die state sometimes since dies were reworked so often. Is that doubling in the motto and on A3 on the reverse?

Admittedly, I know very little about this series--but I thought it would be fun to compare all the same.
The top image is an 1831 0-111 from Heritage, the bottom is a detail of your coin.
Doing overlays, both dates appear to have the same position and spacing.
Below I noted similarities of cracks through the date.

Given that Overton was identifying die pairs, I think it would stand to reason that there'll be EDS versions of O-111.

I'd like to find this particular coin as a cherrypick on ebay - I think the wear in the motto might deflate the price of a coin which might make AU50 otherwise. Too bad it's been wiped.

Man, you guys have good eyes. I can barely see 'em, and I would have missed them completely without your pointing them out.

Thanks, guys. I can see the cracks at the bottom of the date now, which I couldn't before. I would have to say that this is a pretty early die state, though, since the cracks are not yet visible in the stars.

Thanks for all of your help. Dave, if you're interested in this one, it's being listed tonight on ebay.
