Can The Ink In A Serial Number Wear Off On Modern Bills?

Wrekkdd Pillar of the Community Canada 3328 Posts	Posted 09/19/2021 4:37 pm I found this today from the ATM, there is supposed to be a 1 but much of the ink is missing, to the top right of where the 1 should be there is a random bit of black inc. wondering if this is just normal wear? I don't really know anything about, on a side not I received two bills at the same time different prefix with 666 in the serial number, as well as one with 0038110, nothing special but lowest iv found as well as a 9631582(highest iv seen) and a 44184188(again nothing special but close) Anyways the 1 that should be there I can see as worn down, but idk why there is the little black spot to the top right of where the 1 should be. It dosnt answer why there is a dot of extra ink to the top left of where the 1 should be though, kind of looks like a ' Seperating the numbers. Report this Post to the Staff

I will take it that the right of the 1 is correct. That is just a small spec of black ink from the numbering machine. No big deal and not uncommon. Report this Post to the Staff
Wrekkdd Pillar of the Community Canada 3328 Posts	Posted 09/19/2021 9:19 pm @jimmyD, I saw that earlier and meant to correct it but my phone died, you are correct I meant the dot to the right if the one (the spot that shouldn't be there) thanks for clarifying. I didn't think it would be a bug error, before today iv actually never thought a out checking out bills. I tried cycling bills in and out of the ATM at my bank since I can deposit bills into it. I was trying to find a 1000 note or a inclining or declining serial number. I got some close but no cigar. Did find a really low note though. On a side note in modern bills there is a number in the far right side of the bill(2 didgit number) is this an issue number or something? I'm talking about the modern Canadian bills.
