Hi everyone, my brother gave me a coup;e boxes of my Dads coin collection separate from what was willed to us kids. This is part of that collection. I have no idea about the coins other than maybe Chinese. Any info would be greatly appreciated and I have many more including old foreign paper money also tank you. If more pics are needed please say so and I will put them up.

You have a mixture of Japanese, Chinese and, possibly, Korean coins in your photos - which are not very clear. These links should be of assistance in identifying the coins yourself:-

Number 2 is definitely Chinese (Qianlong emperor). I believe all the rest of the square-holed coins (known in English as "Cash coins") are Korean.

All the machine-struck unholed coins in the bottom row are Japanese, all pre-WWII I believe.

Thank you guys I will look more into the links provided now I know where to go and what they are. Have other coins I'll put up just for viewing. Different country's he's collected over his lifetime. It's very interesting.

Most are Sang Pyong Tong Bo which is Korean, one Qianlong which is Chinese.

Most of these are Korean Sangpyeongtongbo. You can use this site to correctly identify them by character: https://www.koreancoinlookup.com/sa...eong-tong-bo

Primaltrek is a good resource, but has many incorrect dates/other information as it is not fully based on Korean numismatic sources.
