Hello everyone, I'm in Bristol, England, UK and have been coin collecting for a few years now.
I'm female, age 64 with 4 kids and 5 grandkids but only one, a grandson, is interested in my coins and he's loving learning about new ones I get and will inherit my collection when the time comes.
I collect mostly high content silver from ancient to modern with a few modern silver plated commemoratives thrown in. In short, anything that takes my eye I buy LOL. I collect a wide range of world coins too as well as English.
I do have a few choice bronze roman coins and just purchased my first 1911 real gold half sovereign after buying a few 'gold' coins from misleading descriptions. But they were cheap so no real loss even though disappointing and nice to add to my collection as teaching aids too.
There are a huge amount of fakes/copies being sold as the real deal eh? So I am very careful who I buy from now and no longer pulled in with the 'garage find' or 'house clearance find' listings.
