That was the same in my coins some scratches blend into the tone and hide. Still a very nice coin Report this Post to the Staff
sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21786 Posts	Posted 09/30/2021 9:33 pm One of the difficulties with grading heavily toned or patinated coins is that tiny nick and hairlines can be hard to find, and even more so when looking at on screen pictures. OP's excellent photography is a notable exception. Almost all ebay sellers never get near this level of excellence. A professional coin dealer with a good photographic setup may do. It really helps the grader if the coin can be examined in hand with a 10X loupe, under point light conditions, just as the TPGraders do. Report this Post to the Staff

Silver101 Pillar of the Community Canada 1081 Posts	Posted 10/19/2021 10:29 am I'm voting for a higher AU grade as well. The full split in those laurel leaves is above AU-50 imo... The reverse is surely AU-58. The obverse I see a little wear around the eye and maybe the descending portion of the braid. Very nice coin! Report this Post to the Staff
