Do you compare it somewhere and how do you know what to start the price point at? Where do most sell their coins beside ebay?

to CCF. Check ebay sold values for low to moderate value coins and check auction houses for sold values of higher value coins. If you have some error and variety coins, post photos here on CCF.

I agree, ebay is the best place to compare prices (in SOLD listings), and probably the main selling platform for coins.

to the CCF!

I agree with what the others have said. ebay is a decent place to look.

For variety cents, I use CopperCoins. There estimates aren't always accurate, but they give you a decent baseline.
