It happened me twice so I feel oblibged to post it here.
Sometimes the e-mails sent over the forum are not delivered. The pop up window says message is sent, but somehow the recepient doesn't get the message.
Any thoughts?

Well RenaL, I'm not quite sure. We have never had a problem with it. Did you have the recipient see if it went to their spam folder? (If possible)
Also, AOL is good for blocking emails and notifying noone, sender or recipient.
Try sending me an email, let me know who you're trying to send to that's not working. Maybe I can find out something.

Bobby did get the email. He's checking on what could have been the problem now.

The emails are sent from the server, so there is no way the browser or any user's computers settings could affect the the success of a send email operation.
The server is sending emails correctly, regardless of the destination email server. All tests that I can do show that. In my opinion the problem lies with the destination account. Either the email is being blocked by the spam app at the destination email server or by the spam controlling app of the destination email owner.
Computers behave in a predictable manner. There is no reason for the server to send the emails correctly to a lot of email addresses and not to do it to other addresses. The email server we use treats every destination email address in the same manner.

Just some rambles from my past experience with a similar issue...
When I owned CoinPeople, I had a similar problem with some mail servers marking the forum email messages as spam. In some cases, they would go to the User's spam folder, which they may or may not know exists. Or, in some cases, the receiving server would just delete them out of hand as spam and the user would never see them.
In my case, I was able to tweak the headers and the standard blurb of the email messages that the software was sending and got under almost all of the various trigger levels. It took some hit and miss trials but I was able to do it. Of course, that was with different forum software so I do not know if this is applicable here.
The reason I went to the trouble was that, in my case, it was affecting user's ability to confirm/activate their accounts. I had the software set up for email confirmation of all accounts. If the new user didn't get the activation email, they could not confirm their account and log on. And, in my experience, a lot of users will never bother to contact you and let you know they didn't get an activation email. They will just move on to the next forum site.
I can't remember if this forum is set up for activation emails as it has been a while since I registered, so that issue may or may not be applicable.

I just recently received e-mails from two members.
However, it's a wonder I heard from them in the first place.
I just happened to check my "junk mail," and there they were.

Thanks Stujoe,
I think I will have to rework the emails a little.
I know some ISP's use word density to decide whether or not to deliver a message or send it to a black hole.
For instance, the word "pharmacy". If this word has a density % of say more than 1% of the email, then it gets deleted by the ISP. So if you use that word once, you better have more than 99 other words.
They also do that with links. If more than a certain % of the email is links, they delete it. This could be the problem here. If you send a short message, the link % could be too high for some ISP's.
This is why you see a lot of spam messages with 2 or 3 hundred miscellaneous words at the bottom of the email, to lower the density of the "bad" words.
I think I will try adding a generic paragraph about CC at the bottom of all the emails.

I usually have to enter an email address into my address book in order to receive mail from any address. Maybe this will help.
