On the following post, http://goccf.com/t/410774

Where the author posted pictures of some new Canadian 10 cent coins, Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers don't show the pictures even when using incognito mode.

This is what I see:

On-One-Post-Unable-To-See-Pics-Using-Chrome-Or-Edge-Browser

Firefox and Internet Explorer shows the pictures.

Anyone else have such an issue?

The images are not secure and some browsers won't show them. That's why we encourage members to upload here.

It's incredibly stupid that they don't show them but it happens nonetheless.

Try right clicking on the image, then click "Open image in new tab". Works for me.

For the post that I mentioned a link to one of the photos is on uploaded/mcshilling/10523/2021_1_rev___obv_MS66__1921-2021_Bluenose.jpg

So what I suspect is going on is that Chrome want everything to be https.

https://www.coincommunity.org/ appears to be using a self-signed certificate.

www.coincommunity.org uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.

I am not asking for anything to be changed...just was a bit puzzled earlier today as to why I could not see those pictures.

Not mine. Neither does my MS Edge.
But I have very strict safety protocols.

Nope, not for me.

I have seen pictures of the coins elsewhere though. So, while it's a bit annoying, no harm done.

Yes, because those dang "insecure" images might kidnap your children when you're not looking.

file a bug report to MS and Google that they don't allow unencrypted media in encrypted websites. They are not compliant with http standards in an effort to FAKE you out that their browsers are secure.
