Im not sure whats going on, but I think I have stumbled across something interesting regarding the above coin.
I bought the newest collector coin card from Petro Canada today, (I know..why are you collecting those), and after buying the most recent one Cross Country Skiing it appears the release of scheduled 2008 bobsled never happened.
I have looked on the RCM web site at it shows the the uncirculated rolls of this same coin is scheduled to be released in June of 2009. Do you think this coin will have a 2009 date on it? I kind of hope so, as I've got 2 examples already of the 2008 Bob sled that I acquired through collector sets.
On another note, it amazes me, the RCM has pre-released a number of 2009 and 2010 coins through these same collector sets with the queen on the obverse already. What would happen if she passed away prior to 2010? Would these coins go up in value?
It just seems like a big gamble the RCM did in pre-releasing these.

Perhaps you got a specimen of the bobseld coin. Even if it isn't, good find! What does the coin finish look like to you, compared to the others? Post pics!

Sorry..haven't learned the macro thing on this digital camera I got for Christmas, but I have linked up below where I got these things. I need to re-iterate that I didn't get these through normal circulating channels

I got one of them from the 2008 Proof-Like/Uncurculated set as per below
http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/speci...Id=cat170008

AND

From the collector card also issued by the RCM.

I'm just so confused why they never circulated the coin through normal channels and as originally scheduled.

Notice the dates on Alpine Skiing... Petro-Can colourised collector compared with circulation.
I bought one(rite from the store. I forget cost, but around 10 bucks) cuz of the mule factor. This is first time I've heard of others in the series having mule dates. That could be cuz I don't really follow RCM quarters anymore, but I hadda have one mule.

I also seem to recall, another mule coin for this series as well. The wheelchair basketball...some of them had the original and copywrited 5 ring olympic emblem on them, when in fact they should have had a different emblem specifying the special olympics.
