I know this is an old post, hopefully someone has an answer. Concerning the 1972 Klondike Dollar, it is stated here that some are issued with an "X" and those would be awarded a prize. Does anyone know if the "X" was a counterstamp? I have obtained one with just that but didn't know if this is the one that was discussed as a prize token.

Prize tokens - every year, 100 tokens would have a different design flaw, usually a dot or an X in varying locations. These are also very rare.
