I'm not sure of the proper terminology, but I have an 1807 Large Cent and the reverse is oriented in the same direction as the obverse. Only rotated about 10 degrees. All my other large cents have the normal "coin turn" (i believe that is the term). Probably not explaining this clearly, but would appreciate any thoughts. Was this common?

It is called a rotated die. Taking a pic using the mirror method works best.http://rotateddies.com/

The proper terms are coin alignment and medal alignment. Coin alignment is the rotation of standard United States coins. Your coin has a rotated die almost 180 degress that makes it look like a medal alignment.
Suffering from bust half fever.

You have an 1807 S-276. While this die pair can sometimes be found in the normal coin orientation, it is most often found like yours with near medal orientation. It can also be found with, though less often, with the reverse rotated to just about any position around the clock. There used to be an EACer who specialized in this variety, and he collected it in every rotation he could find.
