Hi all I'm Asher and I'm new to the forum. I've been collecting for a few months and I collect uncleaned/unaltered fountain pennies, all 1997 and 1998 pennies, especially if they appear to be damaged. I also collect BU 2020 nickels (yes, literally all of them, dont need to have errors). I'm an anthropologist and I enjoy studying the die progressions and deducing what has happened to circulated coins in general.

to the CCF Asher!

Very unique interests indeed! Now do you take the coins from the fountains?

If you study die progressions, the early copper coins and bust coinage provide a wide variety of strike pressures, die cracks, and rare die varieties that are easy to study because of the primitivity of the mint's processes.
Suffering from bust half fever.

When I was a kid I used to keep all 1964D nickels as they were the last ones to have the mint mark on the reverse.

Little did I know at the time how many were made for how many years later
